milestones…
My Mom died this August. Thankfully we were able to go out to Iowa to see her, and bring her home. She died four days after we returned home, and I was able to talk with her just moments before she died. It was a blessed time, which I will never forget, especially since I wasn’t able to see my Dad before he died. I missed him by twelve hours.
Today they are both being buried in Yankton, South Dakota, the place they called home. I am not there. My oldest son returns home tomorrow, after three years away at college. He will spend some time here while he applies for jobs (video game design), and I am so excited about getting to spend some time with him. It was a hard decision to make but I think I made the right one.
Life has been blessed for me, but some days are hard, full of doubt. But experience has shown me that the sun will shine again.
